Look What We’ve Got Cooking For Labor Day
Even though the autumnal equinox isn’t until September 23rd, for all intents and purposes summer is over after Monday. But while most of the country is taking their white clothing out for one last spin, Hungry Nation has been laboring away and, boy, have they cooked up an epic Labor Day Potluck! It will make you wish “Endless Summer” was more than just an old surfing movie!

But alas, all good things must end – so end this summer with the bang it deserves by trying all of these amazing recipes from the Hungry Nation stable of creators.

For a refreshing libation, Amy Cao of Stupidly Simple Snacks gives us three delicious wine cocktails so easy to make you can get stupidly soused in no time! And speaking of cool and refreshing, Mmm Me Gusta’s lemon ice pops look so lip-smackingly good we don’t think anyone will need to worry about them melting in the sun – they’ll be long devoured.

At this point you might be saying: “This is a BBQ after all. Where’s the beef?” Well first of all, no one says that anymore, but of course we’ve got main courses cooking on the grill. Working Class Foodies has kindly contributed a BBQ rib recipe, but you’re on your own for napkins. Once you’ve settled the whole napkin situation, head on over to Hungry in Brooklyn where Shea Hess will be brining pulled pork. Hopefully you’ve saved a place in your stomach for one more go – we know you’re great at planning ahead like that –because Chef John of Food Wishes has a BBQ Chicken recipe you simply won’t want to miss.

But what about dessert? We gave you lemon ice pops already, what more do you want? Oh red velvet cupcakes? We can’t really argue with that request, which is why we’re glad to report Average Betty has brought a recipe for what she calls the “celebutante of cupcakes.”

We’re sad about summer too, but if its end gives us an excuse to pull together a potluck like this one – well then we can’t wait for next summer to end! So grab a lawn chair, put your feet up, press play and let our creators carry you away into food coma bliss.
